Migrated Catalyst's portfolio of tools to Amazon Web Services; re-architected and rewrote several legacy tools; migrated authentication to SAML 2.0. Project required supervision of two senior software engineers and close coordination with Catalyst's Infrastructure team and Harvard University's IT Department. Integrated educational resources into eagle-i, in collaboration with Catalyst's Post Graduate Education group. Continued to document and maintain the eagle-i software.

Addressed technical debt to improve stability, performance and ease of installation; maintained a strong emphasis on documentation and knowledge sharing. Worked closely with national and international stakeholders to support their use cases and installations. Integrated induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) into eagle-i and created a specialized search application, making eagle-i the largest repository of iPSC metadata in the world. Project was a close collaboration with the New York Stem Cell Foundation. Designed a mechanism to disambiguate commonly used terms across the network. Developed pipelines to ingest data from outside sources. Led a team of two senior software engineers. Enhanced processes for efficiency and transparency, including improvements to JIRA workflows.

Led a proof of concept project funded by the Harvard Library Lab to convert library catalogs to Linked Open Data using the eagle-i platform. Supervised a contractor funded by an early adopter institution to extend eagle-i software with custom authentication mechanisms. Served as technical liaison for eagle-i early adopters, including writing installation and development guides. Diagnosed and fixed multiple complex issues such as memory leaks, intermittent failures, etc.

Designed and developed a web service for eagle-i node configuration in order to accommodate network expansion. Determined optimal topology and size for an in-house data federating network tool (SPIN) by implementing scripts for efficient stress testing in the cloud and data analysis.

Developed a C# application for training physicians on reading cardiac computed tomography (CT) scans; collaborated closely with expert cardiac radiologists to design and fine-tune usability of the application. Designed and implemented a MATLAB application for calculating line density profiles of cardiac CT images. Work was presented at the 2005 Radiological Society of North America meeting.

Oversaw administrative support for Cardiac MR CT program. Coordinated submission of multiple NIH grants, including complex multi-center projects; worked with 8 investigators to determine their grant needs. Identified and evaluated available research computing resources for the program’s research activities. Monitored program finances and expenditures.

Developed a Java-based bioinformatics application for designing molecular diagnostic assays. Identified, implemented, documented and tested enhancements and optimizations of in-house applications. Developed a Java Swing GUI for tweaking in silico experiment parameters. Collaborated with scientists to process requests on existing version of proprietary software.

Designed and implemented a Java Swing GUI for annotating journal articles, by identifying PDF files on disk and parsing them for relevant information. Developed an application to assist in the quality control process of the manufacturing department.

Provided administrative support for the program director. Coordinated administrative paperwork for NIH grant submissions for three investigators. Coordinated hospital appointment, visa and licensure paperwork for new hires. Facilitated private practice physicians’ observations of clinical practice.

Learned VHDL in order to build a bus functional model. Updated software manuals while in classes. Also tested and debugged PMC, using oscilloscopes to trace signals.

Worked with C++ to upgrade user module screens and interfaced them with existing programs. Also assisted acoustic team with experiments that used MatLab to generate sound waves and manipulate data.

Conducted quality assurance tests on wide variety of products. Upgraded test program from LabView 5 to LabView 6i and maintained associated test fixture while implanting additional features to test program.
