• Oversee Purchasing of products and raw materials for the repair of large mining, oilfield and other large equipment in three manufacturing locations (Gillette, WY, Sheridan WY, and Tempe AZ) as well as four field service facilities.• Negotiate raw material purchases to maximize availability while factoring in the impact on monthly cash flow/cash management. • Materials to include solid round and tube alloy steel, steel plate, forgings, bearings, seals and outside processing to compliment internal capabilities as well as various other materials and services.• Manage $36M spend ($26M direct, $8M indirect, $2M CAP-X over 32,000 PO line items)• ISO 9001:2015 Transition and Internal Lead Auditor Management System TrainingAccomplishments:• Introduced and implemented job skills training for buyers utilizing Next Level Purchasing Association curriculum as well as product training from suppliers and end product training with company Product Line Managers. Buyers earned their Supply Chain Certificate (SPSM).• Initiated RFQ for Uniform services at the end of an existing contract thus reducing annual cost by 50% and saving $18,000. o Negotiated contract term to 3 years versus the 7 on the service providers’ contract template with no price increases during the term of the agreement. o Service providers’ contract template had included a 20% annual price increase, compounded year over year, which avoided an additional $8000 increase during the term of the agreement. o Negotiated contract from an “automatic renewal” in favor of a “month to month” at the end of the 3-year term agreement until a new contract could be negotiated.
