Working in a busy visitor facing environment, my duties included greeting visitors warmly, explaining the attractions and assessing the needs of individuals to ensure the best visitor experience, as well as scanning memberships, selling tickets and promoting membership to the Trust. At weekends I led family craft workshops.

Quarry Bank Mill

I supported the planning, promotion and execution of events, designing the Easter Egg family trail, in association with Cadbury's. As well as administrative duties and taking group bookings, I wrote website content and raised Quarry Bank's online profile through maintaining a weekly blog. I also digitally catalogued archived press releases and contributed.

Salzburg, Austria

Assisting a family of four, I had responsibility for two small children, who I kept busy with craft activities, bike rides and baking, teaching them English in a fun and informal way. I improved my written and spoken German language skills and enjoyed hiking, mountaineering and exploring Austria’s culture and heritage.

This position demanded enthusiasm, efficiency and excellent organisational skills in order to assess and progress the learning of children. Teaching a range of ages and ability, I adapted my approach to the individual, giving encouraging verbal and written feedback to improve both confidence and written ability.
