I began my career in 1990 as a site foreman overseeing roadworks in Edmonton. As a site foreman, I learned the value of balancing the project’s needs with the needs of my team, creating an environment where all team members could collaborate and contribute to the project’s success. I have carried this team approach with me throughout my career, and it provided me with a solid foundation to be the Regional Human Resources Manager of an Alberta-based concrete company. I spent 10 years contributing to the company’s labour relations and human resources practices for 2,700 employees across western Canada. From there, I became the Area Manager for the concrete division, responsible for meeting the business’ needs in Edmonton and surrounding areas. After six years in the Area Manager role, I became the Vice President of Concrete, providing senior leadership for our business in Calgary and Edmonton. In my final position with Lehigh Hanson, I was the Director of Business Development and Strategy, developing and growing the company’s business across western Canada. In 2020, I started my career as the Vice President of Highways with Volker Stevin Canada. This new role allowed me to provide senior leadership to Lakes District Maintenance and Volker Stevin Highways and foster an environment of collaboration and share success within and across both companies.
