Shruti is a passionate researcher who recently completed her doctorate degree focused on food access, security and health for international students in the US. She pursues her passion of research by engaging in neighborhood and community development projects by promoting ecologically designed built-environments facilitating food production systems in them. Throughout her studentship, she has engaged in multidisciplinary research on campus and outside. By participating in diversified subjects related to food, she has fostered active design-research collaborations with faculty and professionals from engineering, geography and regional studies, public health and nutrition. Her teaching and research assistantships have developed the skills for writing proposals and grants that support her passion for research endeavors. She is also a licensed architect (India) and an inter-disciplinary urban designer. Her strong principle of sustainability and resiliency seeks research collaborations for multidisciplinary responses of physical and socio-cultural urban environments. She engages in dialogues for innovative ideas and problem-solving methodologies to arrive at comprehensive design solutions receptive to physical, social, economic and environmental paradigms. Prior to her recent Master degree, her three years of experience include working as an academician, architect, urban designer and as a researcher. She has participated in numerous architecture and urban design competitions and enjoys collaborative learning. Her versatility, positive attitude, and quick learning abilities has been appreciated by her colleagues while working in different capacities. She is currently seeking a creative role that can employ her skills in research and/or design arena.
