Co-founded a startup that aimed to bring web technology to residential energy management and markets through smart thermostats. Raised $5M Series A after two months of focused fundraising. Shelved project after overwhelming majority of electrical markets filed compliance rules inhibiting Sensey from market participation for 3+ years.

Google Wave — Sydney, AustraliaSpearheaded a Sydney-based experiment in building a startup inside Google. Led the team from inception to end of life in late 2010. Grew product management, marketing, user research, business development and engineering team to over 50 people. Wave was a new communication and collaboration product that grew to 3M+ 7-day active users at its peak. We created innovative algorithms for concurrent editing of structured data across multiple users that drove flagship features like contextual spelling as you type, robots (3rd party agents), infinite scrolling and playback. Introduced transit stops and transit routing to Google Maps and scaled it to 25 cities. Launched the core infrastructure, feed pipeline and routing optimizations. Published feed specification for agencies on code.google.com (General Transit Feed Specification http://goo.gl/PL9nlS).Gmail and Google Apps — Mountain View, CaliforniaResponsible for spam, abuse, internationalization, syndication, delivery, reliability and stability during rapid growth in early life of Gmail. Member of design and implementation team for the Catalyst 4000 Series operating system, the industry's most widely deployed modular Ethernet switch (over 44 million ports shipped).

Designed network simulation environment for Gigabit Ethernet startup founded by Andy Bechtolsheim. Granite was acquired by Cisco in September 1996.
