I am a lifelong learner and passionate about the intersection of technology and higher education. I have been the CIO at Virginia Wesleyan University since fall 2020 and have over 20 years of experience in higher education. I work in support of my team and focus significant energy on supporting my team members to be their best selves. I believe in the value of team building, where a high-functioning team is greater than the sum of the individuals, while also providing opportunities for team members to grow. My higher ed journey started with technical roles with system administration, web development, enterprise systems, networking, security, and project management. Throughout my career, I've led diverse teams with complex IT initiatives, ensuring successful enterprise software rollouts, network infrastructure enhancements, data integrations, and security. I strive to bring a positive, cup-is-half-full view of life and work to get away from my desk and contribute to the culture across campus. I believe my role does not stop with technology as I want to help support diversity, mental health, and people in general in the community and on campus.
