Since early 1800, many prominent Texans have labored on this beloved Estate which today has new life as The Jackson Ranch, a Center For Healing and The Arts. Originally belonging to Maria Trinidad Guerrero; Then granted in 1832 to Manuel Tarin Leal for his military services, who sold to Francois Giraud. Giraud was a city surveyor, architect of the old Ursuline Academy and of the Gothic portion of San Fernando Cathedral as well as a Mayor of the City of San Antonio. Giraud sold to local tax assessor and rancher WILLIAM H. JACKSON in 1853 who created a ranch and put a Stagecoach Stop on the property which he called "The Watering Hole". Al Drake and his wife, Lanier Halstom-Drake, purchased the property in 1915. They turned the Jackson Ranch home into one of lavish style similar to that of the McNay Museum. Passing through the hands of a few more with minor changes; One of the most recent owners vacated the property, leaving it abandoned for several years. The current owner has registered the property on the National Historic Register while refurbishing it for use by artists, therapists, homeopathic lecturers, and events. Raised in a family of photographers, musicians and artists in Alamo Heights, Texas, Patrice was taught not only to appreciate art but how to view the world through the lens of a camera by her father, photo journalist, Bob Collins. Hence, Ms. Villastrigo was destined to become an artist herself. She travels the world searching for and recording her own view of composition, colour, depth, form and beauty. She has exhibited and sold her paintings, sculpture and photography at art galleries and other locations since 1980. Ms. Villastrigo has a permanent exhibit at The Historic Jackson Ranch in San Antonio, Texas.“ Since I was a child, my imagination lead me to creative outlets of all kinds, drawing, painting, sculpting, singing, writing, photography, and even designing matching clothes for me and Barbie. I investigate often uncommon sources to search for that shot combining a perfect composition of color, depth, form, and beauty. Patrice has been singing to her mother's Judy garland albums since she was 8 years old. She began her singing career as a teenager when she would sneek into clubs to sing with her brother.
