Operations included receiving raw materials, cleaning, processing, batching, baking high speed packaging, flow packaging and distributing products under the Leclerc name and private label customers. Plant improved to BRC grade of A from a B. Reduced down time 50% in first year Improved plant efficiency 10% in first year

Kaytee East annual sales are $35 million annually. I lead a staff of 6 direct reports and a total work force of 50+. Operations included receiving raw materials, cleaning, processing, batching, high speed packaging and distributing products under the Kaytee and co-packed brand names to grocery, pet and big box retailers. Plant operated to HAACP and USDA requirements while working toward AIB certification.Used TPS lean manufacturing techniques including 5 S, set up reduction and kaizen blitzes to improve productivity and increased profit margin.Developed and implemented a continuous improvement plans and GMPs focusing on lean manufacturing and total quality methods.Increased employee morale and job satisfaction through the use of empowerment and team building programs as measured by periodic employee surveys.

Duties included profit and loss, OSHA compliance, sales, engineering, production, and all personnel issues.
