I began my career in food sales having come from a grocer's background. I started with Hills Bros Coffee in the early 1980's, in the territory that my father helped build 20 years earlier. When I went to work for Lewis Publishers in 1989, I made a complete career change and became a successful environmental science book editor and publisher. This led to helping launch Sleeping Bear Press, and Ann Arbor Press in the 1990's. We sold Sleeping Bear Press in 2002, and I became a partner in Clock Tower Press and later Sports Media Group. I came to ProQuest in 2007 where I had a highly successful tenure selling electronic resources to college libraries, and more importantly it was at ProQuest that I met my wife Mary Hellner. After some colleagues from ProQuest left to work for InfoReady, a local start-up, I decided it was time for a change and I joined the team in January of 2014. I left InfoReady in April of 2015, when a former colleague encouraged me to join Techstreet, a division of Clarivate Analytics, where is am in sales working with companies that need to use standards and codes in project management and design, and for compliance and quality management.
