About Skip Ragsdale

I have been in the Erosion Control/Sediment Control Industry since 1986. Those who live in the world today should know that we can't continue using our water, soil and air as a dump. We should all be concerned about the future because we will have to spend the rest of our lives there. The people who are Sunshine Supplies, Inc. intend to do our part to help correct this practice and attitude. We will accomplish this by educating everyone who will listen that inexpensive methods exist that, when used as intended, will prevent virtually all sediment from leaving a construction site. We have educated literally thousands of people, put on over a hundred educational seminars, including demonstration field-days that showed soil erosion did not have to occur and sediment control could be prevented from leaving construction sites. We believe that all of us should protect the environment. The need for our efforts, knowledge, and products are greater now than ever, and we will continue our efforts to improve the future of Alabama. In 1986, we picked up product lines that included Rolled Erosion Control Products (erosion control blankets and turf reinforcement mats), geotextiles (stabilization and separation fabrics along with silt fences). This product expansion began my entry into soil erosion and sediment control products. When Mr. John Harbert decided to downsize so as to not leave his children 5,000 company employees to oversee, he closed the company I worked for and this lead to the opening of Sunshine Supplies, Inc. in 1988.
