My primary role was as a systems research and development engineer developing the customer’s idea into a viable product. I managed outside services, suppliers, and manufacturers. My projects included A Smart IP Camera for Videology of Rhode Island. It was based on the TI Davinci DM6446 DSP/ ARM system on a chip. I determined architecture in this project, did performance analysis, selected components, and developed a road map for detailed design. An IP Gateway Server motherboard for an internet environmental monitoring system for e-Sitewatch.com in Massachusetts. It was based on the AMD Elan520 and including network interface, SDRAM, various types of non-volatile memory, and several measurement module plug-in slots. A Flat Panel Display with compact flash data storage as part of a front panel esthetics upgrade for Doble Engineering, a test equipment manufacturer for the electrical power distribution market. It included a Sharp AMLCD and Epson graphics controller. I provided engineering and technical expertise to Thomas Workman, Esq, a Massachusetts patent attorney.
