As Director R&D for this wearable computer systems company, I designed and developed Head-Mounted Displays and portable CPU Systems that were IBM PC software-compatible. I evaluated all micro and flat displays, CPUs, DSPs, and other ICs and designed new products. I also performed new technology assessments and evaluated system requirements analysis to be sure of software and mission compatibility. Projects included created intellectual property and generated supporting documentation. Designed and developed the 486 based MA-2 including AMLCD HMD. Co-developed the MA-4TC with Xybernaut and Digital Logic AG in Switzerland. Developed MA-4, based on Intel Pentium and Celeron CPUs. Co-developed the MA-5 with IBM, Sony, Olympus, Hitachi, and Matashushista in Japan. I traveled extensively, domestic and internationally, to trade shows, subcontractors, manufacturers, partners, and to company divisions in Japan and Germany where I managed small dispersed project teams. My responsibilities included overseeing manufacturing, troubleshooting problems, meeting customers and partners, evaluating new technology, and performing regulatory testing to assure of FCC Class B, UL, CE, compliance.
