Communications is one of the biggest challenges facing all businesses—corporate, non-profit, higher education, you name it—in today's society. Do it well and you do well. That's why I love what I do.In the 25 years I've been in the marketing and communications business, I've been blessed. Not only do I get to do what I love, but I've had the opportunity to meet some very interesting people, work on some challenging projects and participate in some very memorable experiences. I've also been given the opportunity to use my creativity to make people laugh and make them think, either by telling them stories or capturing their imagination through my marketing pieces. Obviously, in today's Internet-driven world, the shift is toward the electronic mode, and I'm energized by this. I love being able to merge my old-school talents with new-school technologies. The ability to communicate in a compelling, effective manner, I've found, transcends not just the need—writing, editing, public relations, marketing, etc.—but the various platforms as well.If I had to sum up my work to date it would be this: Fun. What energizes me the most, though? What's next. Ten years ago we didn't have tablets and Instagram and LinkedIn. Now look at them. So what's it going to be like in another 10 years?
