I was responsible for sales of “Online” Continuous Machinery Monitoring Systems (Vibration Monitoring and Digital Video Web Break Recording Systems).Accomplishments:➢ Developed relationship with ABB Industrial Systems as exclusive sales conduit for monitoring systems to the Pulp & Paper industry, worldwide➢ Fully integrated MTC’s product line (SmartMonitor) into ABB’s sales/marketing system, including spare parts stocks, etc. by moving to ABB’s Pulp & Paper HQ - Columbus, OH➢ Recognized greatest opportunity for sales was in the rapidly expanding Asian market, moved to Singapore to start MachineryWatch subsidiary in support of ABB Asia➢ Sales team of myself, Hakan Nytorp (ABB) and Roger Fung (MTC) captured sale of largest (still holds) single package (>$12 million) of online monitoring products (from any supplier) for ABB/MTC system for 2 paper mills, 7 paper machines and all “balance of plant” machinery in 1 paper mill (APP Sinar Mas – Souzhou and Dagang Mills). Opened the Singapore subsidiary of US-based Monitoring Technology Corporation (MTC). Oversaw the Asia/Pacific interests/operations of MTC. Trained and assisted ABB personnel in the Pacific Rim countries in selling the MTC product line of monitoring systems for the Pulp & Paper industry. Interviewed and hired personnel who would permanently staff this office and run the MTC operation following my return to the USA.
