Reduced headcount in direct and indirect labor pools by 15% Originated daily accountability meetings bringing the shop floor and office personnel together to discuss issues and develop planning strategies for rapid response issues and long term projects. Developed monthly Goals review metrics and reported up to the corporate office. Established Weekly staff meetings bringing all disciplines of the management team together to discuss progress of plans and develop a close knit team environment. Instituted a true cross-functional environment within the management and hourly associates. Facilitated an over-haul of the EHS system to include rapid reporting of issues including near misses and complete investigation. I was brought in to establish a robust quality system, to be certified to the TS-16949 standard, establish a face to face relationship with the local and corporate customer base, and establish and execute an effective launch plan for new models. Key Results Developed a quality operating system that was audited and certified to TS-16949 Quality Standard Revised the quality department structure to reduce manpower and shear duties between both locations in Belvedere. Participated in daily vehicle audits at the customer location and reported out on any issues found by the customer. Initiated Daily LPA, (Layered Process Audits), to ensure all operating systems were effective and standardized work was being performed. Established strong relationship with local and corporate customer.

I was brought in to assist in the large growth that PPPI is experiencing and implement new ideas and help with the transition from a large small company to a small large company. Key Results Developed Material Control Department to receive, track, and distribute product manufactured internally or purchased from vendors cutting down on lost parts and the need to run “Hot” parts. Revised scheduling process and communication which gives more visibility to all departments on due dates which has allowed us to see further out creating a better tool for sales to use when accepting orders and committing to customer dates. I had have 4 direct reports in supporting roles and was responsible for the management of the MRP Process, Quality Systems, Production Scheduling, Out Sourcing, and Maintenance activities. I reported directly to the V.P. of Operations (one of the owners). I was hired into this organization because of my management experience and to heighten the sense of urgency and bring it more in line with that of the automotive industry. Restructured the “old way” of doing things and developed a more customer focused environment. Revised the use of the MRP system to better utilize manpower and cut lead times by 2 to 3 weeks. Key Results Cut customer lead times by 2weeks to 3 weeks by implanting post production run tooling review and pre-production readiness checks. Developed working relationship with the union leadership to allow combination of job duties reducing manpower requirements per job permitting us to produce more with the same amount of manpower. Implemented pre-run process reviews to ensure smooth runs which reduced down time by 15% and scrap from 18% to 3%. Established an employee empowerment environment by listening to those who perform the work and implementing some of their ideas.
