We ultimately won every ward inthe city and achieved the highest win number and voterpercentage (69.9%), in the Secretary’s three-decade politicalcareer.• Serving as Secretary White’s political advisor, chief amongst myadvice was refusal to affix his signature accepting Gov.Blagojevich’s corrupt appointment to the US Senate; as a result,his integrity was never questioned, and we ensured anhonorable man would serve on the world’s greatest deliberativebody.

Creating the Next Generation of Leaders in Aspen.Aspen Entrepreneurs invests capital, expertise, and resources to help young entrepreneurs succeed locally in the retail, hospitality and service industries.Created and operated Aspen’s first co-working space andaccelerator program in order to support new local businessesin a town with an extremely high barrier to entry; this includedfacility design and build-out, client and operationsmanagement, and PR/Marketing. 53 companies participatedand many succeeded.• In order to build acceptance of our upstart non-profit in avalley with over 350 501(c)3’s, I helped produce over 200 events,including showcases, speaker series, moderated discussions,workshops, entrepreneurship classes, meet-and-greets, andmore. Thousands attended, and the programs I helped designattracted speakers from across the country.• To support our brand and build an audience for our in-personevents, I co-launched the Aspen Entrepreneurs Showcasepodcast, where I conducted long-form interviews with Aspen’smost successful entrepreneurs and industry leaders like BradFeld, Tony Mazza, John Sarpa, Stacey Bear, and Finn Kelly.

GoNE GoNZo• To actualize a dream of helping Americans understand thereality of life in foreign nations, I created a concept, wrote atreatment, scripted a pilot, raised seed capital, vetted andassembled a professional team, served as government liaison,and line produced a team of 10 on location in Laos for 5 weeks.This resulted in a well-regarded pilot episode that followed twoyoung journalists as they immersed themselves in the localculture, traveling from border to border on soviet-eramotorcycles. It was picked up by television networks in twostates, and given online network distribution.

• I led an expansion of the efficacy and the responsibilities of thelogistics team, whereby doubling on and off-campustransportation capacity, increasing the rate of recycled items,improving sponsor response time, and integrating relationshipsbetween the Aspen Institute and Meadows Resort teams. Thiswas accomplished by myself and one intern; when I departed,our responsibilities warranted a team of two staffers and sixinterns to accomplish the same tasks.• To professionalize the operation, I trained the logistics team inguest relations and crisis management, transforming our staffinto the go-to for unanticipated problems with high-valuespeakers, sponsors, and attendees; this enabled ourprogramming team to focus on their primary responsibilities.
