After completing a BA from Skidmore College in Environmental Studies with extensive coursework in GIS and Geology in 2009, I applied my liberal arts education to my first love, alpine skiing. I have ski-raced for 20 years, spending four years as a student-athlete on the Skidmore College Alpine Ski Team, and am seeking opportunities to continue on this career path.I coach ski racing and big mountain skiing for my own organization, Party Beach Ski Camps, LLC, based mainly out of Mount Hood, Oregon during the summer. My camp focuses on providing a mountain experience where having fun is paramount to athletes’ evolution in skiing and in life. We challenge athletes to discover who they are as a skier in a safe, inclusive environment. As a private coach, I put emphasis on the ever changing conditions and environments that impact the performance of the athlete while making working hard fun. In 2010, I began the communications portion of my career as a Snow Reporter at Stratton Mountain Resort in Bondville, VT, which snowballed into opportunities with Ski Gear TV and The Ski Prophet, Powder Magazine, Alpine Press, SkiGenie.com and my own personal blog, writing on topics including ski product testing, observations on coaching alpine ski racing athletes, and my own adventures in big mountain skiing. I am an active member of United States Ski & Snowboard Association. In the past, instead of skiing during the summer season, I have worked as a stewardess on yachts in the New England coast area, providing top-notch customer service to facilitate the best vacation experience to clients possible. I am currently seeking opportunities in Salt Lake City area and Internationally that would enhance and supplement my career in alpine ski racing as well as outdoor focused writing endeavors.
