I’m a crisis manager, leader, risk communicator, educator, and technologist, who excels at leading teams through complex and time-sensitive problems. I love the task of taking complex or technical missions, breaking them down into tasks, and leading a team to get them done. I’ve spent most of my career in public safety and government, with a lot of personal time spent starting and working with non-profits. I’m a Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) and ISO 22301 Business Continuity Lead Implementor, with extensive experience in leadership, disaster response, project management, grant management, public speaking, volunteer management, and program development. I can assist you in analyzing your own programs or help you develop new ones. During blue skies, I enjoy projects that integrate technology in ways that are sensible, inexpensive, and are designed to make your job easier! During grey skies, I can lead your team (or mine) or provide mentoring and advice to your existing leaders. I'm a certified Cybersecurity Manager, who can provide crisis planning and management, along with customized training for your organization. As a privacy and security advocate, I'm always looking at how security impacts all other sectors. I provide technology implementation consulting and management to small companies and non-profits. I'm particularly interested in helping people make better decisions by using technology to collect and share data. I’m an early tech adopter, so I like to play with whatever is new and might be cool. That means 3D printers, personal drones, and even a wi-fi enabled cat food dish (because why not?). I like to look beyond the fun uses of technology though and find ways to make public safety professionals safer and public safety jobs more effective, with the goal of supporting the public and keeping them safe. I'm particularly interested in the use of artificial intelligence to improve emergency manager decision-making and emergency messaging. I’m always looking for projects that can use a combination of those skill sets. Have something interesting? My company is a Washington State Certified Women Business Enterprise, so let's collaborate!
