The Children and Youth Administration (Barn och ungdomsförvaltningen, BUF) is responsible for preschool and leisure activities, education for preschool children, nine-year compulsory school, upper secondary school and adult education (such as Swedish for immigrants). The Committee is also responsible for the operation of the theatre, arts center and a culture focused elementary school.

Storstockholms brandförsvar (Greater Stockholm's fire brigade) is a municipal association with ten cooperating municipalities. These are: Danderyd, Lidingö, Solna, Stockholm, Sundbyberg, Täby, Vallentuna, Vaxholm, Värmdö and Österåker.We are responsible for the security of 1.4 million people. Through cooperation agreements, we are responsible for alarms and management of rescue operations in a total of 31 municipalities in Uppland, parts of Södermanland, Västmanland and on Gotland.Our operations include 16 fire stations and ten fire brigades. We have staff on standby around the clock. Preparedness also exists in the form of various special functions, such as rescue diving and international rapid response force.

Nobel NightCap is the final festivity after the Nobel Banquet, held on the 10th of December in Stockholm, right after the Nobel Ceremony. 1978 was the first year that Nobel NightCap was arranged. Mats Nyqvist, a student at the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) at the time, got the great idea to arrange a relaxed event after the City Hall Nobel banquet. Nobel NightCap has grown tremendously over the recent years and today it is a project that has a turnover of well over a million SEK and it relies heavily on both a tight connection with the Swedish business community, but most importantly a lot of dedication from the student associations that alternate as hosts, SASSE at SSE, THS at the Royal Institute of Technology, SUS at Stockholm University and MF at the Karolinska Institute.
