My technical writing work includes writing and editing user documentation for a Melbourne-based customer experience testing software company, Cyara.My editing work as a freelancer has included AI prompt editing for Toloka and Outlier, articles in the Society of Writers, Editors and Translators (SWET) Japan Newsletter, product descriptions, user manuals, an Australian-based IT guide, and companion textbooks for the Japanese broadcaster NHK. My writing work has included articles for a real estate website called RE Talk Asia, features and restaurant and bar reviews for Tokyo's largest English magazine Metropolis, an entry for a US-based encyclopedia, a travel article for CNNGo, and the content for a US-based small business website.

I edited and proofread technical manuals required by the company for its Federal Aviation Administration certification.

In this role I assisted with marketing and communication activities for the Information Technology Services division of the University, which involved writing, proofreading, and editing content for a variety of publications, liaising with external suppliers, representing the group to other areas of UQ, and organising events. I worked on publications with varying target audiences, from student and staff IT information booklets to annual reports, and contributed to marketing campaigns for large projects such as UQSchoolsNet and UQconnect Email+ for Life. These projects, as well as my day-to-day tasks, involved significant work on the web – whether it was content preparation and editing, or website maintenance. A number of projects I worked on, including the AusCERT, eResearch, and SPUSC conferences, also involved public relations tasks.

I was hired to manage the content aspect of this major redesign of the Information Technology Services website, which had 200+ pages and a variety of audiences with differing needs. My duties included writing, editing, and proofreading. This was achieved by deadline, and my contract was extended so that I could work on another major project with the division.
