I was the Vice President of Yahoo's Cloud Computing Infrastructure and Virtualization group. I led the R&D team to develop an application and service development environment that was both easy to learn and use, with runtime deployment offering virtually unlimited scalability and reliability at a fraction of the cost. I was responsible for Yahoo's overall integrated cloud strategy and execution, building a platform that unified Yahoo innovations in Big Data Infrastructure (Hadoop), Storage (Sherpa and MobStor), Content and Edge Services, Consumer Platform Services, and all Yahoo services into the cloud. I collaborated with industry leaders to establish open standards for Cloud Application Serving, an effort that later contributed to the creation of the OpenStack platform.
