I'm deeply immersed in the world of OTT MPEG DASH/HLS-based adaptive video streaming, VOD transcode workflows, CDN management, and live streaming services. I've successfully implemented back-end solutions for a commercial multiplatform OTT product (LMT Viedtelevīzija), covering everything from API development and middleware to designing VOD workflows.In addition to my experience in PHP-based projects, REST API design, Solr deployment, and SQL database schema design, I've been actively extending my capabilities to audio-video transcoding and processing pipeline development in Rust.My expertise includes various PHP frameworks, such as Laravel, Yii2, Codeigniter, Zend Framework 2, and hands-on experience with SugarCRM integration and queue management. I'm versatile in working with different CMS and eCommerce applications, such as Pyro CMS, Pimcore, Magento, and Efumo CMS. In addition I have also worked with React and vue based projects as well as Python based REST APIs.Proficient in unit testing and version control (git, subversion), I've managed projects using Jira and Redmine, leveraging Ruby plugins and configuration for the latter. No stranger to Grafana and Elastic/Kibana for monitoring and data analysis. On the system administration front, I have a solid understanding of Windows, Linux (Ubuntu server, ArchLinux, CentOS), and other Unix-like operating systems, as well as Mac OS X. I'm adept at Bash shell scripting, docker solutions and server configuration, with experience in Jenkins automated builds. My background includes network design and architecture, along with infrastructure deployment and network hardware builds.To keep my skills diverse, I engage in various hardware-related hobby projects, including smart-home, HomeAssistant/Zigbee based solutions and Arduino micro-controller based electronic projects using C/C++. Outside of work and code, I find balance by dedicating time to family, indulging my passion for travel, pushing my limits in endurance sports and extreme adventures, riding my motorcycle and working on a retro-mod car restoration project (metalworking, welding, painting, ECU tuning with Speeduino, wiring, sensors and all that) – because life is about more than just virtual code.
