CurrentLead the Geometry & Meshing, Topology Optimization (TO), and Inverse Optimization team for the Sierra Mechanics software suite, one of DOE's Advanced Simulation and computing (ASC) Integrated Codes that operates in high-performance next-generation processor environments. Meshing & Geometry include Cubit and other finite element (FEM) meshing software as well as Scaleable Geometric Modeler (SGM) for CAD geometry representation, all of which is transitioning into Next Generation Simulation (NGS) for computational mechanics. These efforts include research in application of machine learning to enable all these technologies. TO efforts include PLATO (Platform for Topology Optimization) software for intelligent additive manufacturing approaches. Inverse Operations related to computational mechanics optimization and and meta-materials design. POC Lead for the 26+ year Goodyear CRADA partnership with Sandia. Liasion for DoD and NASA engagement with Sandia's Engineering Sciences organization.
