Currently, I am spearheading the responsibility of driving Business Development strategy & initiatives for Polyester & Cotton Yarns, having been entrusted with additional responsibility driving the Logistics function. The role entails active co-ordination with overseas banks for Documentary Credits, Trade Finance & International Trade Execution along with entire documentation & approvals. I also engage with all overseas buyers across globe with relates to Export Sales, Realisation of Payments and other areas of related responsibility. Additionally, I handle entire Legal & Compliance functions for the EXIM related business.

Here, I was tasked to set up the Export Market from almost a scratch, having been pivotal in developing new markets including North America (Dom. Rep., Guatemala, Mexico, etc.), South America (Chile, Colombia, Peru, Brazil, etc.), Bangladesh, UAE, etc. As a result of my efforts, I was recognized for the export turnover in the first year itself. I was also responsible for handling the banking relationships along with Finance and Forex / Treasury for the exports vertical. Marketing & Representation globally also fell under my purview. Focus on cost, business growth and processes was critical during the tenure here.

I initiated tenure with hands on role involving handling of documentation for export of Polyester Yarns, gained on ground exposure and successfully grew in terms of designation & skills owing to demonstrated excellence & prowess. I was a significant contributor towards scaling up the turnover of the company manifold, with 25% contribution from the Exports function directed by self. Subsequently, I was then tasked to oversee scrutiny of all Export documents sent to bank for lodgement / negotiation / purchase along with handling the entire interaction with the Finance department to avoid & address related to banking & issue of LCs. I was then given additional charge of overseeing International Marketing and interactions with foreign bankers, overseas buyers and agents of the company while also developing new business. I also successfully handled & streamlined the book closure function of the company in the wake the newly set up Export business.
