RESEARCH AND SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENTNRCS Runoff Curve Number Identification for Runoff Loss EstimationResearched the origins of the NRCS Curve Number methodology, its various estimation approaches, and the impact of it’s uncertainty on the estimated peak run-off.Evaluated the original NRCS watersheds that were used in the development of Curve Numbers and developed a multivariate regression model relating the curve numbers to physical parameters in a watershed. Applied Stepwise regression in the development of the statistical model in order to investigate the possibility of an objective approach to runoff curve number estimation.VDOT Geotechnical Database Management SystemSupported the development of the Virginia Department of Transportation’s online portal for geotechnical data. This involved aggregating a large repository of geotechnical data from disparate sources to standardize the display and delivery of information.Created GIS layers for query and display on the ArcIMS server-based portal. Developed PHP code to generate dynamic SQL database queries for data retrieval and display.Developed scripts to generate reports and package datasets for download.HAMPTON Roads Extra Materials ExchangeDesigned and implemented the system architecture for HRXME-online, a Hampton Roads, Virginia extra materials waste exchange for promoting waste re-use by identifying and matching buyers with sellers.Designed the database schema for HRXME-online.Developed the interface to retrieve and presents the results.Computer LAB AssistantWorked as a Lab Assistant for the Civil Engineering Department’s Computer Engineering Lab at the University.Provided trouble shooting and technical support and installed hardware and software.Built computer systems for the department.
