Sky Arnold is a seasoned public relations professional with a diverse skillset in multiple industries including non-profit and political communications, government communications, television/internet news, and voice over work.Arnold is currently serving as the Communications Director for education organization Tennesseans for Student Success and the Managing Editor for its partnering journalistic enterprise the Tennessee Firefly. As Communications Director, he crafts important communication content related to government and education. As Managing Editor he manages a small team of content writers who write stories on deadline.Prior to his role with Tennesseans for Student Success and the Tennessee Firefly, Arnold served as the Press Secretary for the Tennessee Department of Human Services. In this role he expanded the visibility of the department through strategic media and content campaigns. He also led the production of department videos that have combined to generate half a million views and guided DHS social media platforms from launch to more than 45,000 Facebook followers. Arnold's tenure at DHS involved managing vertical department content creators to help craft important communication content and he served as the communication team lead for the $200 million TANF Opportunity Act. This role involved marketing a brand new program to a wide variety of organizations and government entities across the state of Tennessee.Before making the career change to public relations in 2017, Arnold spent more than two decades working as a reporter at multiple television news operations across the Midwest and South. This included more than a decade in Nashville at WZTV Fox 17 News where he oversaw both the state and local government beats. He also served as a mentor, training and managing interns and new photographers, helping guide them to successful careers in the news industry.He's accomplished in crisis communication, media relations, strategic communication, video production, social media management, and voice over work.
