The role of the Mental Health Clinician on the Community Acute Care Team provides short-term crisis resolution and home treatment as an alternative to admission to in-patient units, as part of a multidisciplinary team, to people with a severe and persistent mental illness. These services are to be least restrictive, collaborative, recovery-oriented, nominated carer and family responsive and inclusive, rehabilitative, encourages self-advocacy, facilitates empowerment and capacity for optimal independent function and utilises evidence-based practice interventions. A primary goal of this position is to work collaboratively with staff, consumers, and other agencies (both within WSLHD and non-Mental health treatment and recovery.
