Perinatal Peer Support Team - Working with birthing individuals who were struggling with their mental health postnatally from a low to moderate level, including perinatal anxieties (overwhelmed with motherhood), PND, and birth trauma. Perinatal Mental Health Team & Maternal Mental Health Service (PMHT & MMHS) - This work involved prevent, detect, and managing mental health problems that can be complicated by pregnancy and the postpartum period (PND, c-PTSD, birth trauma, baby loss). The overriding goal was to promote maternal wellbeing and in turn bond and attachment with infant at the earliest opportunity. Duties and Responsibilities:This included participation in initial assessments, writing patient letters, MDT participation and presentation, signposting recommendations, triaging referrals, creation of a perinatal leaflet (alongside updating other materials), acting as a Peer Support Facilitator, producing materials (PowerPoint) for group intervention course (psychoeducational course for PTSD/c-PTSD with perinatal focus - birth trauma etc.), active participation in group course via guiding mindfulness activities. I also helped with research, service evaluation and review. I became familiar with psychometric tests, including CORE-OM and IES-R, both distributing and scoring.
