In this role I was responsible for training retail staff within pharmacy and health store, the company educators, external sales teams as well as creating technical material for marketing, staff, pharmacies and health store. I wrote educational content on traditional plant medicine, health concerns, conditions, also lifestyle and nutrition. I managed a team of educators and created content for their in store training sessions. I am passionate about helping people and writing - with this role I was lucky that I could combine both.

National trainer for Bioceuticals. I was responsible for training EBOS staff, pharmacy retail and pharmacists and health store staff. I also answered technical calls and emails from stores, consumers and pharmacists about products, conditions and gave recommendations to help give the best information and product to the consumer. Responsible for sales targets and accurate technical health and product information.

I was the national trainer for Martin and Pleasance, where I trained the external sales staff, pharmacy retail and pharmacists and health food staff. I was responsible for answering all technical calls and emails from stores and consumers.

I was a natural health consultant for Health 2000 for 3 years, while I was studying for a Bachelor of Natural Medicine. I was sole charge of store, in charge of ordering, processing, and retail and customer service.

After I returned from overseas I worked back at Legal Services as agrants officer. It was a fixed term position that finished mid 2011.2009 Teaching English in South KoreaI taught English to children aged between 4 and 14 years old in Suwon,Korea. I learned to manage a classroom, lesson planning and how toeffectively communicate when language is an issue. This job taught mehow to deal with situations outside of my comfort zone, as at times ourcultures were quite different.

I was in sole charge of the Dunedin office. I was responsible formanaging all staff, their performance and workload. In this role I wasresponsible for performance reviews for the office staff. I also gainedinvaluable experience with performance management and ultimatelystaff dismissal. I was responsible for a multitude of monthly reports andwas also included in the National quality review team that checks thequality of the decisions for the Agency as a whole. I was elected for theNational testing team due to my Regional manager’s recommendationto head office regarding my high performance and competency. In mytime at the Agency I was chosen to be Acting Regional Manager for theSouth Island offices while my immediate boss was away. I was in chargeof the 3 offices and over 30 staff, and was required to report toparliament in that role.I also continued to work in the granting role as outlined below.

In this role, I made complex decisions daily, on legal aid files. I wassolely responsible for maintaining my own workload, and casemanagement. I reviewed decisions in relation to legislation, policies andregulations, and also worked alongside the debt recovery team inrelation to those files that require debt work. The role requiredextensive communication; I am an effective and empatheticcommunicator. Daily I dealt with communicating decisions throughletters, telephone, or counter visits, whilst maintaining a professionaland diplomatic service. In my time at the Agency I learnt 2 computerdatabases.

In my time at Inland Revenue I dealt with emotional and oftencombative customers on a daily basis while maintaining empathy for thesituation, I often managed an outcome that was acceptable for bothparties.In my role at IRD I also had case management. I consistentlyperformed above expectation and to an exceptional level within my role.I learnt 2 computer databases proficiently. A major part of this job wasworking on the phones, and also with the IRD phone system – I had tomulti task while talking with customers and solving their issues.I went on to specialise within Child Support, into the AdministrativeReview section. This involved learning extensive legal policies, andprocedures, whilst maintaining my exceptional communication skills.I made the most of the ‘Aspire’ modules within IRD, which consistedof learning about all aspects of IRD; I often did this in my own time.
