I am a licensed Medical Technologist with over 21 years of experience. I have worked with a multitude of laboratory equipment, from larger hospital grade instruments all the way to smaller clinic instruments for point of care testing. In addition, I have performed many point of care testing for covid, flu, strep, mono, pregnancy testing, urinalysis testing, Protime/INRs, CBC’s, HgA1c’s, and microalbumins. I am responsible for proficiency testing and keeping update with current laboratory certificates. My experience includes managing operations of a CLIA approved laboratory, patient safety training, training of new staff, staff development, inventory and ordering of laboratory supplies and instrument maintenance and daily quality controls. I am also a very proficient phlebotomist with many years of experience. My extensive medical knowledge and skills make me an invaluable asset to any facility.I am trained in diagnostic x-rays and currently possess a Limited Xray license for the state of Mississippi. I am also knowledgeable of insurance coverage for different laboratory testing and working on denials for the insurance purposes. I have been trained on several nursing duties, such as taking vitals, taking patient histories, updating medication list in EHR, performing EKG’s for providers and other nursing duties. I have worked with the EPIC EHR for 13 years, since my companies “Go Live” date. I have been a part of new EPIC trails and upgrades from the start of our Go Live date. I am very knowledgeable of how the EPIC system works. I am knowledgeable of the MDVIP laboratory practices and mange the lab portion for an MDVIP provider which includes lab draws, coordinating with Cleveland Heart Lab for results and ordering supplies from Cleveland Heart Lab.
