Creative. Diversified. Organized. I have a Baccalaureate of Arts degree from the University of South Dakota in Contemporary Media and Journalism with an emphasis in Strategic Communications. Whenever I complete that mouthful of words, usually the person asking is more curious than before. “What is that? What does it mean?”The greatest thing about my degree is that I have the ability to determine what it means. I've acquired the skill sets for a wide range of opportunities from broadcast journalism to event planning. My work experience includes event planning, public relations, marketing, social media, economic development, residence life, outside and inside sales, and coaching. I have helped plan events for the Freedom Forum Diversity institute which include the Al Neuharth Award for Excellence in the Media and the American Indian Journalism Institute. I was responsible for creating the social media voice and online marketing plan for the Vermillion Area Chamber and Development Company as well as helping to write the winning submission for South Dakota’s Large Community of the Year Award and writing many submissions to the Governor’s Office of Economic Development. A healthy work life balance is important in my house. Outside of work, I have a passion for animals, time with family and friends, and traveling. I have two wonderful boys that fill my life with joy. In my free time, I'm usually entertaining friends and family or spending time with my husband and kids. We like to travel and experience new cultures, cuisines, and see new sights both in the US and abroad.
