Growing up in Waihōpai I attended Southland Girls High School where I developed a passion for media, English and communications which lead me to attending Otago University where I graduated wirh a BA in Communications with a minor in Gender Studies. I was always passionate about helping people, advocating and offering support to various people. After graduating I stumbled apon the Bachelor of Social Services programme and Career Development. I am currently studying Career Development at Otago Polytechnic, where I am learning about the latest theories and practices in the field, such as self-concept, career adaptability, and career counselling. I am motivated by the goal of helping people achieve their career aspirations and overcome their challenges, especially in the context of the changing and uncertain labour market. I am also interested in exploring the role of upskilling and reskilling in enhancing employability and sustainability as well as aiding in transitions, life changes and self concept.
