MISSION STATEMENTABCD is a nonprofit human services organization that each year provides more than 100,000 low income residents with the tools and resources needed to transition from poverty to stability and from stability to success. To fulfill this purpose, ABCD uses a comprehensive approach that systematically addresses the range of barriers faced by households in poverty, from day-to-day crises to long-term needs for jobs, education and housing.HEAD START & CHILDREN'S SERVICESHead Start is a family development program that offers comprehensive services to children and their families. Part of a highly successful national program, ABCD Head Start has locations throughout Boston, Everett, Malden, and Medford. Our services concentrate on early childhood development, education, nutrition, and physical and mental health.Early Head Start works with pregnant women, infants and toddlers to ensure that very young children get the care and enrichment proven to aid in healthy development and establish a healthy life-course trajectory.Our programs are designed to meet children’s individual needs while respecting and reflecting community and cultural values. We also provide children and their families opportunities to learn about healthy living. Each child receives annual hearing, vision and nutrition screenings, along with services, referrals and resources to support their health when needed.Head Start & Early Head Start also gives mothers, fathers and legal guardians extensive support and opportunities to move up the economic ladder while supporting their child's learning and healthy development.https://bostonabcd.org/

Center for Labor Education and Research; “The coalition of coalitions”, bringing together voices at the national and local levels to win improvements in people’s lives and shape the public discourse on public education and workers’ rights to help create an economy that works for everyone. We lead strategic campaigns to help build power for working people, work nationally and locally, on the ground and online, and have won real change for communities by combining innovative communication strategies and thorough research, to policy advocacy with grassroots action.

These events are organized by passionate individuals who seek to share the latest research and uncover new ideas that spark conversations and action in their communities. These events are not controlled by TED, but event organizers that agree to abide by TED's format. We worked hand-in-hand with local partners to tap the ingenuity and can-do spirit of the American people to tackle our country's most pressing challenges. AmeriCorps serves more than 45,000 locations across the country to meet community needs related to education, health, energy and conservation, economic development, and disaster services, and support high-impact, direct action service to meet pressing needs, from illiteracy and homelessness to hunger and disasters.

WHC's mission is to treat each patient as we would a member of our own family by providing the best medical treatment with care and compassion, responsive service, and an intelligent use of resources. I increased system effectiveness and built on the collective strength and cultural diversity of everyone, working with open communication, mutual respect, and in a fiscally responsible manner, to ensure the best possible outcomes for all. Everyday I strived to anticipate and meet the needs of the patients, physicians and colleagues. We delivered the very best to every patient, every day, with a "Patient First" mentality. I built trust with the patients and faculty, and conducted myself according to the highest ethical standards, while serving those around me with the highest professionalism and dignity.
