I work as a receptionist/customer service representative, while managing the department. I perform the normal duties of a receptionist role which includes answering a high-volume of calls, scheduling appointments, making requests for medication refills, taking payments, and giving estimates. I also schedule surgery, and provide pricing estimates on those. I am also responsible for checking people out, and taking payment in the form of cash, credit/debit card, care credit, or check.As a supervisor, I am required to advise my team of any changes to the clinic and make sure that the department is doing everything properly. I check in with everybody on my team about once a month to ensure that they are doing okay physically and mentally and provide support when needed. I write the schedule every month and make adjustments as needed. I cover shifts if somebody calls in sick, or requests the day of. I also am responsible for making payment plans if we have no other option, and relay this information to my hospital manager. The last thing that I do is go over the medical records from the medical staff to ensure that all of the records are completed, as the clinic is AHAA approved, and the records need to be completed.
