It was my 7th festival working for the Institute; I've worked with hundreds of volunteers, interns, and direct reports over the years. Skyler stands out as one of the best colleagues with whom I've had the pleasure of working for a number of reasons. He arrived every day prepared to work long (14+) hour days with competence, enthusiasm, and integrity. Once assigned a task, no follow up was required as I quickly learned that Skyler is able to work efficiently and independently with little supervision. While dealing with incredibly diverse populations and challenging situations, Skyler maintained a calm and kind demeanor, despite dealing with constituents who displayed the opposite. I have worked with college students for many years as an Executive Director; Skyler's maturity and professionalism quickly elevated him into a role of a trusted colleague as opposed to an intern in need of guidance and instruction.
