In this role he was primarily focused on acquiring land, leases and easements for Greenfield solar development. Prior to this, he worked in a similar position with Southern Current. He also works with Treely.Land, which he joined in 2017, as a land broker in North Carolina and South Carolina. Before solar and land brokerage work, Slade was involved in land conservation throughout the southeast, primarily in the Carolinas, Georgia, and Tennessee. For 11 years, he directed and managed The Trust for Public Land’s (TPL) SC land conservation program that extended throughout SC, coastal GA and Charlotte NC. Before opening TPL’s office in SC, Slade worked for TPL in Atlanta GA buying and selling lands throughout metro Atlanta and along the Mississippi River in western TN. Prior to land conservation work, Slade specialized in timberland investments with the Hancock Timber Resource Group and as a private timberland consultant. With Hancock, he was responsible for operational oversight of $500 million in timberland assets, including oversight of timberland management, dispositions, land valuation, financial modeling, and portfolio analysis.
