RESEARCH QUALIFICATIONS:Knowledge and experience in the following fields of research: Inorganic Chemistry (Ph.D.), Materials Science, Solid State Chemistry and Physics, Crystallography, Magnetocaloric Refrigeration. Research objects: Intermetallic compounds with promising magnetic and electrical transport properties, mainly the intermetallic compounds containing rare-earth elements; magnetocaloric materials, rare-earth permanent magnets. Experimental skills (synthesis): arc melting, high-frequency melting, solid-state reactions, transport reactions, heat treatment of the samples in quartz ampoules and crucibles.Experimental skills (characterization): X-ray powder diffraction, including the Rietveld analysis of the atomic structure of compounds, heat capacity measurements, ac/dc magnetic susceptibility, dc magnetization, electrical properties, thermoelectric properties, magnetocaloric properties.Additional qualifications:Experienced in the characterization of a crystal structure of crystalline materials using X-ray powder diffraction in non-ambient conditions, namely at various temperatures and applied magnetic fields;Ability to understand and interpret the results of first principle electronic structure calculations;Knowledge of the novel energy conversion technologies, namely thermoelectric and magnetocaloric applications;Experienced in a daily supervision and training of the undergraduate and postgraduate students, post-docs;Experience with scientific databases; ability to write and review scientific manuscripts prepared for publication in peer-reviewed specialized journals, and conference proceedings;Knowledge of the conference organization routine.
