Forensic Counselor
Use evidence-based trauma informed therapy to conduct assessments, evaluations, and crisis intervention services to individuals pre-trial and post-conviction with felony criminal charges. Provide psycho-social evaluations to the courts, Probation Department and other agencies as appropriate. Diagnosed mental illness/disorders including dual diagnosis of substance abuse disorder. Provide individual counseling sessions and case management services to the extent that those services were deemed of clinical necessity. Worked collaboratively with psychiatric staff to determine the appropriate combination of psychotherapy and psychotropic medication for treatment planning. Completed all documentation within 48-hours. Designed 7-month ACT group therapy curriculum to help clients process grief suffered while incarcerated and to adjust to their new lives after release.
