After experiencing losses in my investments, I discovered Inner Circle Trader (ICT) in 2022. ICT's approach focuses on understanding smart money and liquidity draw, combining technical analysis, risk management, and trading plans. Guided and mentored by a remarkable 23-year-old prodigy (currently in his second year of university), I embarked on a transformative trading journey. Within just six months, I successfully overcame funding challenges and secured valuable funding from prop firms. It's been an incredible experience. In IHIS, I was tasked to create a national level program that leverages on robotics and AI to enable innovations, whilst increasing productivity for a sustainable healthcare system. Out of the three key strategic shifts by MOH, our program realises the goal of Hospital to Home by shifting the gravity of care from hospitals to the community and home and supporting the transition in care and ageing in place. In my role as a planner, I assist the group in obtaining the final approval of multi-million funded working plan to initiate the program. I also drive the effort in creating service blueprint to describe the service delivery process from the customer's perspective; developing and maintaining global project timelines; tracking all key project milestones; and influence the work and decision-making of various stakeholders. Our program has not only helped discharged patients to enjoy better quality of care at home, it also helps the healthcare system to improve early discharge rate and reduce readmission rate of frequent admitters.

In Konica Minolta, my role is a innovative blend of product management and developing new businesses. In product management, I use research and voice of the customer (VoC) to plan and prioritise idea development programs and also provide valuable inputs for the business requirement for the development of minimum viable products (MVP). The technical part of my role involves carrying out market trials and building capability in micro-location marketing and real-time indoor navigation. With my previous experience, I was tasked with the setting up of retail portion of showroom and hosted visits from the key management team. In developing new business, I drive the efforts in incubating and commercialising a new line of business in service robotics to the hospitality and healthcare markets. I champion both the technology and business agendas of service robots, manage the product and go-to-market road maps as well. Our hard work paid off when our senior leadership team approved our comprehensive business plan. After the new business was commercialised, I actively work with core business units to develop sales and marketing plans to roll out service robots to enterprise businesses.

As the Manager for Strategic Innovation at IDA Singapore, I was involved in various innovation projects which elevated my skills to a higher level. The most impactful project was Internet of Things (IoT) which was the backbone of Singapore’s progression to a smart nation. As part of the team, I evaluate developments, identify potential impacts of new technologies and carry out trial projects to pinpoint industry verticals that we should focus in. One of the trial projects involved wearable sensor technologies that can improve wellness to enable healthy and active aging. I was heavily involved in this trial and personally led a team in designing and developing an IoT@Home showcase to demonstrate how these sensors can improve the lives of our elderly folks. The IoT@Home showcase was featured in the IMBX event in 2014.I was also actively involved in the improvement of IDA’s internal environment to encourage the embrace of emerging technologies amongst the IDA staff. Our brainchild was Tinker Lab, a physical environment for IDA staff to get an in-depth experience with emerging technologies. The aim of Tinker Lab is to cultivate a hands-on, learning culture in order to build influencers and enthusiasts within IDA to provide technology leadership for both the government and the industry. I played a pivotal role in planning, leading, organising and controlling (PLOC) the lab’s execution and operation. Together with my team, we developed a smart home concept in the lab to show how technologies can be a great practicality to anyone and even hosted visits made by the Chairman of IDA, senior management and government ministers.

Microsoft Innovation Center Cyberjaya, Malaysia

I handled various functions within Microsoft during my stint there. The whole portfolio was toward the management of events, mentoring start-ups and heading marketing plans. As part of the team, I drove the technopreneur ecosystem within Microsoft. My core role in this team is to plan, organise and execute events and programs to help technological start-ups. These events and programs included expertise training that built relevant technical competencies for these technopreneurs. I also serve as their mentor in developing their products. In addition, I provided consultancy in areas related to .NET development and Microsoft technologies to the participating technopreneurs. As part of my mentorship for startups, I managed and promoted the BizSpark program to existing and potential start-ups. I organised and executed the BizSparkCamp, in which I provided technology advice, training and POC support. Among others, I also evangelised and drove new technology adoption in startups and ISVs with Windows Azure, HTML5 and WP7. My marketing portfolio included the promotion of MIC physical facilities located at Cyberjaya. Using both online and offline methods, I created awareness for MIC by organising training and networking events for local start-ups.

As a solutions consultant, my role placed me in a position to develop new products to solve our customer’s problems. I led and managed an outsourced technical team to develop a Kiosk Ordering Management System which was successfully rolled out to our pilot customer – KFC. My role in this development involved analysing and designing of new functionalities, modifications, preparing technical documentation as well as coordinating application testing.

One month after I enrolled in my MBA course, I co-founded my first startup with a friend. I led a team of three software engineers to develop a new SaaS product which we named IP.Eco. This product managed intellectual assets for organizations. In order to achieve a faster and better result, I self-learnt Scrum and introduced the practice into our development process. The result was rewarding – our development time was reduced by 50% due to greater transparency in communication. I also worked actively with our collaboration and technical partners as well as our potential customers to define our product roadmap.

This role exposed me to software support as I took charge of all support activities from defining processes to leading my team in support matters.
