Sofia Lemos is a curator and writer whose practice explores the intersections of art, performance, and discourse. Her curatorial approach focuses on experience, continually exploring and envisioning new approaches to critical inquiry and accessibility while amplifying meaningful perspectives. From 2021 to 2024, she served as Curator at TBA21–Academy, where she launched a program focused on ecology and community practice, featuring fellowships, commissions, and convenings with artists, musicians, performers, and thinkers. Previously, from 2018 to 2021, she was Curator of Public Programs and Research at Nottingham Contemporary, where she led live programs and collaborative projects, including the multi-year Sonic Continuum, exploring the relationship between the sonic and social change. Other projects include Metabolic Rifts (2017–18), a symposia series dedicated to ecological discussions at the intersection of visual arts and performance studies, co-curated with Alexandra Balona at the Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art.Lemos was associate curator at the Riga Biennial (2020), a visiting curator at Galeria Municipal do Porto (2017–18), and part of the curatorial team for Contour Biennale 8 (2017).
