Sheryl Grant is a Fulbright Specialist and information scientist specializing in micro-credentials in higher education. She is the President of New Trust Lab, where she developed models and case studies to guide micro-credential design and research for universities and colleges. Earlier she led the development of scalable design patterns for micro-credential innovations in collaboration with the Trusted Learner Network at Arizona State University. Prior to this, she served as director of digital credential strategies at Badgr, and co-chaired the United States T3 Innovation Network’s Learner Employment Record Network (LERN) adoption and implementation workgroup. Sheryl is the author of What Counts as Learning: Open Digital Badges for New Opportunities, the first book to capture critical insights from early micro-credentialing programs in 2014. A pioneer in the micro-credentialing movement, she played a key leadership role at HASTAC (Humanities, Arts, Science, and Technology Advanced Collaboratory) at Duke University, in partnership with philanthropic organizations and the U.S Department of Education.
