Responsible for Renewable PPA Origination, Contract Negotiation, Evaluation, and management. Process includes creating new strategies that meet economic and sustainability goals, building RfPs, managing relationships with developers and internal stakeholders, and closing PPAs. On track to complete 6 PPAs in 12 months across many different power markets, including 4 large-scale behind the meter. Optimize existing assets in ERCOT and MISO, present innovative opportunities to management-level decision makers to expand ExxonMobil’s space in the power market. Started up the first financial trading desk at ExxonMobil. Initiate and manage projects like asset optimization at the Baytown refinery and demand response participation in the ERCOT ancillary services market. Involved in energy efficiency initiatives, Other responsibilities include managing relationships with counterparties, utilities, ERCOT, various advocacy and trade groups, and collaborating with internal groups such as Gas Trading and Power Projects to increase revenues across the business line. Also responsible for basic account management across CAISO, MISO, PJM, FP&L, and the northeast.

Energy Management & Optimization: manage 14 wind units within the ERCOT region (EMA). Facilitate daily calls with asset owners to discuss day-ahead optimization strategies and term bids/offers to capture revenue opportunity or even buy back a hedge to mitigate risk. Proven and verifiable results in optimization revenue for clients. Maintain good relationships with clients, present valuable market information using visual materials, and keep clients up to date on market changes and regulatory compliance requirements. Work with the real-time team to maintain good standards of operations with the wind units. Advise clients on CRR strategies and term trades. Participate in and am a member of the ERCOT Congestion Management Working Group, the ERCOT Regional Planning Working Group, and the ERCOT Reliability Operations Subcommittee. I work with many teams within the organization, including the C&I group, to develop new retail products with renewable energy to best serve our customers’ needs. I also work with the origination team to acquire EMA contracts and facilitate the necessary process for financial transactions (ISDAs, NAEBs, etc.). Maintain a working knowledge of thermal assets in the portfolio and assist in managing much of the demand response portfolio.
