• Lead researcher on the £3.5m Defence Science Technology Laboratory (Dstl) funded Affordable Titanium for Defence (ATiTUDE) project in a consortium of aerospace and defence OEM’s, supply chain and the High Value Manufacturing Catapult. Developing a solid-state closed-loop recycling of waste titanium alloy machining swarf via field assisted sintering technology (FAST) and hot isostatic pressing (HIP) with subsequent downstream thermomechanical processing (e.g. forging, rolling, extrusion) for defence applications. • Responsibilities include; problem solving and developing solutions to technical engineering challenges, quality control of incoming material, project management including planning and scheduling of tasks and dependencies, high-quality communication of key results and developments to internal and external stakeholders, working with consortium members and the supply chain to ensure work packages are delivered on schedule.• Experience in collaborative research projects with industry, RTO’s and academia to develop technology across a range of sectors including; aerospace, defence, sports, biomedical, offshore and nuclear.• Published research papers in several high impact scientific journals in addition to several conference papers and patent applications. Presented technical presentations at a number of international conferences including; TMS 2023, World Titanium ‘23 and WORLDPM2024, alongside a keynote talk at the 2nd FAST/SPS Conference. Chaired sessions and acted as a paper reviewer at World Titanium ‘23.

• Supported Multidisciplinary Engineering Education (MEE) academic staff in the delivery of quality teaching and student assessment in undergraduate engineering labs within materials science and aerospace propulsion. • Industrial Training Programme for final year MEng Aerospace Engineering students and first year PhD students, carried out experimental work, provided supervision and supported the group during project meetings.

Acted as a facilitator for the Engineering You're Hired project week in 2021 and 2022, with responsibility for the delivery of content and supervision of project working for a hub of 36 students (6 groups of 6), exclusively online. Facilitated interactive teaching sessions, interacted with groups to identify and troubleshoot any team working difficulties and provided questions and feedback to groups in end of day "boardrooms". I also acted as a liaison with academics and industrial mentors assigned to the hub. Finally, I provided assessment and feedback of final group presentations and submitted reports.
