About Slobodan Perović

Slobodan is a senior consultant in environmental protection and renewable energy with fifteen years of experience in international project development; From March 2021 his ENVISOL consultancy company has been delivering services for multiple clients, including NIRAS, UNDP, UNOPS, AC and different EU funded projects. During 2021 and 2022. he served as Deputy Chief of Party / Component 2 Lead for the USAID Serbia Energy Security Activity. Previously, until November 2020 Slobodan managed Sector for Strategic Planning and Projects of the Ministry of Environmental Protection from 2017 on, in the capacity of Assistant Minister, working on accession-driven investment planning in the environmental protection sector, circular economy, and management of IPA funds. Before MEP, Slobodan worked as a development expert with the Continental Wind Partners for six years, developing Serbia's largest wind farm, assuming roles in managing project development's technical and environmental side, financing with IFI, and procurement. Slobodan's experience includes working with DAI on the USAID disaster risk reduction projects in Serbia from 2006 to 2011, focusing on institutional reform in emergency management at the local and national levels and managing the consequences of natural and man-made disasters. The scope of his efforts was in the area of creating a new legal framework and sustainable implementation of reform activities in the field of disaster management. Slobodan published several papers in environmental protection and natural disaster prevention and mitigation and helped establish the Serbia National Training Centre for Disaster Management. Slobodan started his career in Serbia, as a teaching assistant at the University of Belgrade in 1998, as local councilor and spokesperson to the City Council in the early 2000s, and National Democratic Institute (US) regional trainer from 2003 on. Slobodan is an engineer by education, holds MSc in Petrology and Geochemistry from Belgrade University, Serbia, and is an alumni and member of the Petnica Science Center. Speaks English fluently and has basic knowledge of German and French.
