I am currently a Professor in Biology, my research program focuses on conservation biology, particularly as it relates to biological invasions. I have successfully obtained extramural funding for my research from several federal (NOAA, NSF) and international (EU, Israel) agencies, including Foundations. My managerial experience includes successfully managing my research team for decades, which has allowed us to make significant progress towards understanding the ecological and economic impact of invasive species. My team has published dozens of papers on the topic and we have presented our results at both national and international conferences. To inform interested stakeholders of our progress and achievements, and to encourage general public engagement, I have also participated in numerous outreach events, and I maintain an active website and blog as well as social media channels. I also have experience organizing large events such as meetings and conferences (200-700 participants) and raising the necessary funds to sponsor those educational experiences.
