Health Level Seven International (HL7) is the global authority on standards for interoperability of health information technology with members in over 40 countries.The Orchestration, Services, and Architecture Workgroup (OSA WG) supports the HL7 mission by exploring how HL7 standards can be orchestrated and used in concert to address health industry needs. By establishing architectures and practice patterns that describe best practices, OSA focuses on the dynamic aspects of system behavior and architectural services, including FHIR. OSA will produce and maintain implementation guides, educational materials, and Service Functional Models (SFMs).Moreover, OSA serves as the steward for the service-oriented architectural vision for HL7 and assures that the standards produced will align and support their targeted health industry business and clinical needs. Per the HL7-OMG Memorandum of Understanding, SOA WG serves as the primary liaison with the Object Management Group.Note that this workgroup is an evolution of the group formerly known as Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).
