Embedded development for Daniel’s ultrasonic flow meter product lines.

Embedded development as a part of the Chassis Management Zone Controller team, in the Industry Standard Server group. My responsibilities have included:* Converting an existing code base, including ThreadX / NetX, from IAR’s Windows-based C compiler to a GNU cross-compiler running on Linux. This included configuring and building the toolchain, porting newlib to the new environment, writing linker scripts, and JTAG debugging.* Development and debugging of product features on both embedded Linux and bare-metal processors.* Management and extension of a custom Linux rootfs image using the Linux Target Image Builder (LTIB).* Participation in and use of Agile methods for Software Development.

Embedded software development in vxWorks and RMIOS using x86 and multi-core MIPS processors. Low-level platform support. Linux network application programming. IPC protocol design and implementation. Low-level OS utilities. Python-based test automation framework. Analysis and resolution of field issues. Low-level debugging and defect resolution. Add LWIP (lightweight-IP) to embedded MIPS processor. Agile software development methodology.

Worked on Sun’s ULOM service processor, which was an embedded PowerPC running Linux 2.6. Configured the embedded environment and the GNU development toolchain. Designed and implemented parts of the infrastructure responsible for booting and configuring the guest domains, error reporting, and providing status for shared hardware to the guest domains.
