I was born into the pest management industry. I tried for many years to forge my own path in the music world, but I discovered how difficult a music career could be. Assessing my options for the future, I looked at what my father had been doing my whole life and realized there was nothing better! I started by working as a temporary customer service representative for a small, family-owned business, and I challenged myself to improve efficiency every day while working in the office setting. After a few years, the opportunity arose for my husband and me to start our own business, and we jumped. Taking the risk of leaving our steady jobs to become business owners has been the most incredible experience I could have imagined. As we grew our family and business, I began to take a more active role within the Washington State Pest Management Association. My role with the WSPMA began with the vision that I would help modernize the association and soon expanded to me taking on the newsletter, membership renewals, and website management. I now have the honor of being the WSPMA Executive Director. I am thankful that I realized that the pest management industry was where I belonged, and I strive to understand and experience all aspects of this wonderful, essential industry.
