• Worked under the NSF-sponsored Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU), Beyond Basic Science – Connecting Climate to Communities, with climate scientists Dr. Susana Adamo and Dr. Alex de Sherbinin on a preliminary analysis of the anthropological effects of Hurricane Mitch on Honduras. • Amassed net migration census data on a subnational level from the 1988 to 2013 Honduras census and analyzed disaster and poverty indexes to find correlations between relevant variables in order to examine long term effects of natural disasters on migration patterns and socioeconomic growth using QGIS.
