I created Portals for People to spread joy and beauty and to help people.What are Portals? Each image is a portal. And each of these portals is a window or doorway into another world. Some portals show tiny details that often go unnoticed e.g. drops of water on a car windshield, razor wire on the US/Mexico border wall, or light reflected and refracted through a piece of broken glass. Some portals are representational and recognizable e.g. a landscape, sunset, bubbles, tiles, or trees. Other portals have been transformed into abstract art: colors and shapes that can convey a hint of the original scene or inspire totally new and different feelings in each viewer. Portals generally contain bright colors, bold details, and simple beauty. Why is it called Portals for People?These portals are for your enjoyment. They are visually interesting, pleasurable, and stimulating. They are meant to entice and excite your senses, bring joy and color to your life, and encourage reflection on the world around you. Some people like to know the origins of the original photo that led to the image you see as a portal. Other people like to simply enjoy them as pieces of representational or abstract art. It's up to you! And each portal supports real people. Teampedia LLC is a small consulting firm specializing in organizational and innovation consulting, learning and development, and team building activities for youth and adults. Clients include: U.S. Department of the Interior - Office of the Special Trustee for American Indians, University of California San Francisco Department of Pediatrics, and Alphabet Rockers - grammy-nominated musicians and anti-racism activists.

Teampedia (www.teampedia.net) is a collaborative encyclopedia of free team building activities, icebreakers, teamwork resources, and tools for teams. The purpose of this website to enhance collaboration and creativity in teams, and the website is editable by anyone. I developed the vision, logo, team and technical infrastructure for the site, and I recruited collaborators to contribute and edit content. The site hasn't been in active development for several years, but I still oversee the basic operations and maintenance. This has always been a labor of love and side project. Teampedia has served over 10K visitors in one day, 80K visitors in a month (July 2015), and a total of 3.5M visitors from around the world since inception. I led pro bono and skills-based volunteering (SBV) for Google.org focused on our key pillars of Education, Economic Opportunity, and Racial Justice. * In 2017 my team drove over $11M in community value through SBV projects, engaged over 7,000 employees in SBV, piloted three new impact models, launched new volunteer profiles, and built templates, toolkits and infrastructure to pivot our eight-year-old volunteering programs from a focus on hearts and hands projects to high impact SBV.* During my 11+ years at Google, I've worked on all major functions within employee volunteering and giving including: community, vendor, and partner relationship management, measurement and evaluation, strategy and innovation, business alignment, building our internal technology platform and tools, operations, training, ambassador programs, project scoping and management, volunteer appreciation, marketing, storytelling, and more.* I helped recruit and hire teammates as our core team grew from two to twelve people, and I continue to mentor teammates and other Googlers through our Sage Guru program (for early-career Googlers who identify as Black, Latinx or Hispanic). * I also founded and served for 10 years as the Global Lead for GoogleServe - an annual volunteering campaign that now involves 20k+ employees in community service projects and has become a core part of Google’s culture.
